I have, for as long as I can remember, and as long as my parents were aware of me, been a nerd. My preschool teacher said I was most likely to be a reporter because I was always asking "why?". While that annoyed 5 year old me (I had NO interest in being a reporter) and 15 year old me (seriously? Thats what you got out of that?) 27 year old me sees it as a foundational truth of who I am. I always want to know "Why?" and "How?". I noticed way back in high school that if I didn't schedule daily "Nerd Time" (set block of time to learn, explore and go down all the random rabbit holes) I was not a fully functioning person. In addition to regular nerd time I need Music, Physical touch, Movement and what I can only describe as idealist time. I need to feel the flow of my body as music runs through me. I need to feel the vibrations in my head when I sing. Feel the heart beat of my loved ones, imagine ways to make the world a better place for them, research their feasibility, and follow them to the end of the idea and finally, share those ideas. This blog is my attempt at the latter, but also a way of chronically this second great area of change and growth in my life. Thank you for reading!
